Why does it matter? I never understood this. If Jehovah knows everything, then he'll know how many hours people do anyway. Why do they have to report it to the higher ups? I was badgered all the time when I was a kid to turn my hours in. I never did. I didn't go out much either and neither did my parents back then. I was lucky!

so i was checking out the website to see what the february broadcast was all about before i watched it with my jw wife.. on the front page was this video.... https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodbible/pub-jwbai_201607_1_video.

i watched it and pretended i had never been a jw.. if you pretend you don't understand their particular language it makes for a interesting (if not vague) watch.. btw i've seen several of the actors before.

I feel so sorry for them. As a born-in, I am well aware of how this feels. These poor kids can't even have normal relationships.

another thread on here made me think of it.. its a personal peeve of mine.. you bow your head in prayer and the brother says thinks like thank you for the lessons we learned today like bla bla bla and for that wonderful point about yadda yadda yadda.

jehovah we know that etc etc etc therefore we must...well you get the gist.and on and on it goes.

E-Harmony Dilemma

well, i messaged someone on e-harmony and she messaged me back.

i did like her at first and she likes me too.

we exchanged more than 10 messages till i find out yesterday that her best friend is a tarot card reader.

I read Tarot cards. I think there is a misconception about us. What most Tarot card readers practice is what's called white magick. (yes with a k). It is more about finding light, love and peace. Spells are frowned upon because there is the universal law of three...whatever you do to someone else comes back to you threefold. The cards I read provide guidance and wisdom. However, everyone has free will, so the choices are always with the querant (term for someone I read for.)

Out of curiosity, did she tell you that her friend did a reading on you and her specifically?

Off On A Trip - But Little Enthusiam

never was a jw, but been here a long time.. off on a trip in a week or so, uk to andorra to stay with a friend for 10 days or so (beautiful place) then a week or so wending through france back home.. did the same trip the last couple of years -it was wonderful.

met some lovely people, including an ex-polce woman over coffees and calvados after dinner.. but ... i don't feel so enthusiastic about this trip.

i'll visit the cathar sites and other places.. maybe- just maybe - i've come to the conclusion that these trips are not as much fun if you don't have a companion to share it with..

In a few year's time they won't even have conventions anymore. I think they will just instruct everyone to look at the videos...kind of like a webinar. That would be a huge cost saving measure. I am surprised it hasn't been done yet, but it will.
